ERP? Done incorrectly? £££

£2.6m to £40m cost for West Sussex County Council. Same sort of issue as Birmingham. How many more are out there?

Oracle Fusion rollout costs 15 times council’s estimates
No it’s not Birmingham this time. West Sussex County Council ERP replacement price to hit £40M

I’m not public sector, so I don’t know. But it feels like local councils would do very similar things. Missed opportunity to do a central ‘Basic Council’ offering? Councils pay base fee and only pay extra for anything specific to them? Leverages economies of scale, expertise and lessons learned?

Too naive? Is that the sound of 100 public sector workers dying laughing?

Oh well. Would have been good to save some of that public money.
